sewing in my sleep may actually have to happen!

wow, its been a whole week since my last post! well its been pretty busy to be fair!
Iv finally started a quilt, Iv thought about it for at least 3 years now but then read the instructions and dont understand half of them, then I started looking at blogs and google to see if there was a simple quilt I can try out first...no, not really is the answer to that, however I did find an very inspiring blog called In colour order (incolourorder.blogspot.com), this girl is AMAZING with quilts and even post tutorials, so Im giving her Star quilt a go using some pretty fabric I couldnt bring myself to cut up for toys and an old bedsheet..so far its making sense too.
I have a craft fair this Saturday and SHOULD be making stock, but Im getting so carried away with this quilting malarky that I keep putting it off! oh well, I will have to squeeze a few more hours of sewing and a few less of sleeping.....

up and coming bits and bobs....

I have a crazy week this week, who knew starting a craft business and being a full time mum/general skivvy would be so much hard work! not only do I have two very different craft fairs coming up, which I'm trying to taylor my stock to but I also will be running the Dartmouth Craft Fair on Aug 4th! its a never ending stream of sewing at the minute, throw in the fact that my son has decided 4am is a perfectly reasonable time to wake up and you end up with one exhausted lady! Iv have for the first time in my life bought a diary, seeing as all the little notes I leave myself dotted around the house were not really doing the job, and my house now looks like a fabric explosion hit it, with bits of thread, cotton, remnants of old fabric and a hell of a lot of pins scattered around my once tidy bedroom.its just about enough for me to look for a 'proper' job with a boss and set wages and a routine!

You can find me at the following Craft events this month-

Saturday 23rd June
COUP! Hysteria, 578 Kingsland Road, Dalston E8 (8pm-3am)

Saturday 30th June
St Vincents school, the ridgeway, mill hill NW7  (11.30 onwards)

Newbies

Today I decided to make something for my son, its long overdue considering he has to put up with the sound of a sewing machine sending him to sleep most nights, Im really pleased with the outcome for my car crazy child, and the owl is something Im toying with, such a lucky boy to be getting all these Just Sinead originals!

and...relax.....

So Saturday saw the launch of the Dartmouth craft fair, and it would be a lie to say it had been easy, most of it I loved, but finding out 3 days before that the street party that was meant to be happening in conjunction with the craft fair had been cancelled, nearly put an end to the whole thing, seeing as i had assumed I would be getting a lot of promo and customers that way! There was a very frantic last minute flyer post (thanks Mum) and I annoyed all my friends and family and most of twitter by insisting they all turn up! I had needn't of worried though, the day was AMAZING! every ones stalls were fantastic, the effort people made not to mention the standard blew me away and actually made me rethink what I will do with my stall for the next one...yes that's right there will be another one!. the Pub were so pleased and probably surprised with the turn out and response that they have asked me to do a monthly craft fair! not only that but the comments and inspiration I took from Saturday has kept me very busy these last two nights designing new products for Just Sinead.
So thank you to everyone involved with making, what I hope will be just the beginning of a successful crafting career so much fun!
